How to Order Online
To place an order using the MSD website:
Register: Click Register in the upper right corner of any webpage and follow the prompts. When your account is set up for online ordering, you will be notified by email.
Note: You will need to register your account before you can place an online order. If you do not already have an account with MSD, please contact Customer Service to establish an account.
Sign In: Signing in (link at top of page) ensures that your order will be billed and shipped correctly and that the prices you see are correct for your account.
Browse Our Products & Services: The Products & Services menu will guide you to products designed for your research. Navigate to the product detail page to add the item to your cart.
Add to Cart: When you have located your product, select the appropriate options and then click Add to Cart.
Confirm Selection: We will notifiy you if the item has been successfully added to your cart. To proceed, select Continue Shopping or View Cart from this screen.
View Cart: When you are ready to complete your purchase, click the Cart link at the top of any page or View Cart from the Item Successfully Added screen.
Check Out: When you are ready to complete your purchase, click the Cart link at the top of any page or View Cart from the Item Added screen.
Your Cart: Your cart may have unordered items in it from a previous visit. Please review your cart carefully before proceeding. If you need a formal quote to generate a purchase order, you may request a quote at this point. When you are ready to purchase, click Checkout.
Shipping & Payment: This page will be pre-populated with the default information from your online Profile. Review the Shipping & Payment information carefully.
Changes: To change your shipping and billing information, contact Customer Service or request an address change from within your Profile. Customer Service will notify you when your account information has been updated.
Enter Payment Information: You may pay via purchase order. If the Billing and Shipping information is correct, click Review Order to continue.
Review Order: Please carefully review your complete order, including products, shipping, and payment information. You may make changes to your order or shipping and payment information by clicking the Edit Shipping and Payment or Edit Items link.
Special Instructions: Use the Special Instructions box to provide additional shipping or delivery information.
Place Order: If all of the information is correct and you are ready to purchase, click “Place Order”. We will save your cart until you delete it or place the order.
Confirmation: We will display a confirmation when you place your order. Later, you can follow the status of your order through your Profile page.
Note: If your products purchased have supporting documents (i.e., Product Inserts, Certificates of Analysis, etc.) we will list them on the confirmation page. Make sure to look for these documents in the Order Resources section. Saving these links now could save valuable time when your products arrive. These documents are also accessible through the product detail pages.
