SECTOR and QuickPlex Plates
SECTOR plates are compatible with most MSD instruments. The wells of SECTOR plates are read in groups (or “sectors”) for faster read times. SECTOR plates are available in 96- and 384-well formats in both MULTI‑ARRAY (1-spot) and MULTI-SPOT (4-, 7-, and 10-spot) configurations.
QuickPlex plates are read one well at a time, providing ultimate performance for demanding assays. QuickPlex plates are available as 96-well, single-spot plates. QuickPlex plates can be read on QuickPlex instruments.
Plate Surface
MSD plates are available with two different surface types: the standard binding capacity plates use a hydrophobic surface; the High Bind plates use a hydrophilic surface. The standard plates tend to offer higher sensitivity while the High Bind plates are ideal for quantification of analytes that are abundant in samples.
The 96-well plates also come with standard (large) spot or small spot options. The small spot plates enable signal concentration for samples with lower levels of target analytes.
Plate Coating
MSD plates are available both uncoated and with various coatings for the needs of different applications. Available coatings include:
- Avidin
- Streptavidin
- Glutathione
- Goat Anti-Mouse Antibody
- Goat Anti-Rabbit Antibody
In general, avidin-coated plates have higher binding capacity, reduced maximal signals and less sensitivity, while streptavidin-coated plates have lower binding capacity but provide broader assay windows and better sensitivity. For detailed binding capacities and recommendations in plate coating, please refer to the documents in the "Documentation" tab.
