Bone metabolism is a continuous process where mature bone tissue is removed from the skeleton (bone resorption) and new bone tissue is formed (ossification). An imbalance in the regulation of bone resorption and ossification results in many metabolic bone diseases such as osteoporosis. Markers of bone metabolism can be measured to assess the rates of bone formation, resorption, and mineralization, providing clinically relevant information.

MSD provides solutions to support and simplify your bone metabolism research needs. We offer singleplex and multiplex assays that enable the quantification of proteins involved in bone formation, resorption, and mineralization.
